SINATE formed in June 2005 after Matt and Sam Sheppard (singer anddrummer), left one of NZ’s better known metal acts, 8 Foot Sativa.They recruited Sean Parkinson (guitar tech for 8 Foot), on lead guitarand “The Colonel” who was previously guitarist for local metal band, Reprobate.
SINATE entered Auckland’s York St. Studios in August 2005 to record theirdebut album “Beyond Human”. The album took just seven days to record and was released in September of “05”.Three videos were made, one of which was directed by Andrew Beattie, who worked on Lord Of the Rings for Weta Studios.

| SINATE then toured NZ frantically until March “06” when the bandtravelled to Vasteras, Sweden to record their second album and alsoheadlined a show there at a local venue (Taj Mahal).Their second album (as yet untitled), will be released in September“06”, followed by a NZ/Australian tour and a U.S. tour with Californians, Flatline. |
